Natalie Ciomek, MD
The Heme Queen™
Dr. Natalie Ciomek is a triple board-certified pathologist and a 3D CGI artist. She is board-certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and hematopathology. She also had fellowship training in gastrointestinal pathology. After her two fellowships, she became an assistant professor and a course director for the Gastrointestinal System and Clinical Nutritional Course at the Tufts University School of Medicine. She won the outstanding lecturer of the year award for every year she taught at the medical school.
Her passion is teaching medical knowledge by untangling complex medical concepts with lots of visuals, simplified language, and memorable stories. After several years in academic medicine, she became frustrated as teaching was always the smallest part of her appointment. She was also disappointed with the low-resolution 2D images in medical education. She resigned and soon became a 3D artist and the founder of Mededdo Studios, an online medical education studio.
